Madden 09 demo





The best American football game is back


The 20th anniversary of Madden NFL football is less than two weeks away! Gamers can check out Madden NFL 09, the first sports game that adapts to you, with the Madden NFL 09 demo that is now available on Xbox Live and Playstation Network. Players can try out the new Virtual Trainer mode, which allows users to customize the difficulty and gameplay settings, as well as preview the new Madden Moments game mode.

At the start of the demo, players can get a sneak peak of the new Virtual Trainer mode as they are immediately dropped into the Madden Test - used to assess a players Madden IQ. Throughout the game, a player's Madden IQ is constantly updated and adjusted, as are the difficulty and play settings which are based on the Madden IQ. The Madden Test consists of four core game play mechanics: Passing, Rushing, Pass Defense, and Rush Defense.

Madden Moments allows gamers to replay a team's key moment from the 2007 NFL season. In the demo, the Giants Super Bowl-winning drive is the featured Madden Moment. Players will take over the reins of Eli Manning and the Giants with about two minutes to go and attempt to score and walk away with the NFL championship.

Madden NFL 09 is scheduled for release on August 12 and introduces over 85 new features and enhancements. Madden NFL 09 also includes a brand-new broadcast presentation package featuring Cris Collinsworth and Tom Hammond, online leagues, and the most realistic graphics in franchise history.

Autumn release confirmed for Konami's football sequel; gameplay details revealed


Konami has confirmed that a new Pro Evolution Soccer game will hit stores in the autumn.

PES 2009 will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PS2 and PSP.

New additions include that will further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing.

According to Konami: ‘The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts.

‘Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.’

“The announcement of a new PES game is always a highlight for Konami, but PES 2009 looks set to reaffirm the series’ utter superiority,” commented Jon Murphy, PES Project Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.

“We are committed to extending the realism of the new game with a wealth of key gameplay additions, and will produce a football title that truly embodies all the skill and pace that is good about the modern game.”

The ultimate in football experience is back

With consumer anticipation for the game already sky high – and some hardline PES supporters even admitting that it could be a Pro Evo beater – EA has exclusively revealed to MCV that FIFA ‘09 is set for release on October 3rd.

The latest in the ultra-successful FIFA series is scheduled for release on PS3, 360, Wii, PC, PS2, PSP, DS and mobile platforms, and boasts considerable improvements over last year’s edition.

“We’ve made over 250 improvements from last year and we wanted to give the team the time they needed to make the best FIFA game possible,” said senior product manager Trevor Uzice. “We’re continuing to build on the solid foundation from last year which saw us create the most successful FIFA both in terms of sales and quality.”

Game improvements include a 20-player online mode, more responsive first time shooting, improved goalkeeper AI, and an over-the-top arcade mode built specifically for the Wii.

EA has also partnered with leading Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, Portsmouth, Newcastle and Tottenham, in support of the title.

“We are continuing to work with Arsenal on marketing initiatives and we are pleased to announce a three-year deal with Chelsea, which sees us become their exclusive games partner,” continued Uzice.

“We are also working with several Premier League clubs on programmes which will allow us to build a closer relationship with fans around the country. Just as important to us is our commitment to the Football League and we will be working with all clubs from the Championship, Division 1 and Division 2.”

Trio Will Appear As Stylised Action Heroes Performing Over-the-Top Trick Moves

It was announced today that international football superstars Ronaldinho, Peter Crouch, and Gennaro Gattuso will be featured world wide on the front packs of FIFA Street 3, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS BIG™ street football arcade series.

FIFA Street 3 brings these players, and others like them, to life as stylised action heroes in a hyper-real world that merges the game’s biggest stars with environments that pulsate to the music in exotic locations around the world. Ronaldinho, Crouch and Gattuso represent three of the different types of specialist players created in game, where gamers can choose to play with Tricksters, Playmakers, Finishers and Enforcers for different options on the ball and a different gameplay experience. Gamers get the chance to combine these different types of specialist players and associated skills to create the ultimate street football team.

"FIFA Street 3 is about turning football icons into eye-popping characters through the game’s stylised art direction for an over-the-top arcade soccer experience," said producer Joe Nickolls. "Ronaldinho, Crouch and Gattuso represent three of the different types of players available in our game and we were able to exaggerate their qualities to really create larger-than-life characters."

Ronaldinho, the cover athlete on the original FIFA Street, is a global megastar and the Brazilian International and FC Barcelona midfielder’s list of accomplishments includes a FIFA World Cup winner’s medal, the 2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year, as well as the 2005 European Footballer of the Year award.

Joining Ronaldinho will be Italian World Cup-winning footballer Gennaro Gattuso. The creative midfielder, who plays for A.C. Milan, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League title in the 2002-03 and 2006-07 seasons, continues the tradition of world-class athletes donning the FIFA franchise covers. It is Gattuso’s first appearance on an EA SPORTS™ or EA SPORTS BIG cover.

Completing the trio of world class players will be Liverpool and England striker Peter Crouch. Liverpool’s top goal scorer in the 2006-07 season, Crouch has also been a consistent goal scorer for the England national team. He will have his 6’7’’ height amplified to compliment his ball-striking and finishing skills and help to create a new soccer experience.
